Pages to Scrap March Challenge

This is what we got to  use for the March Challenge:

I made an Easter layout using Rach's Stampin Up Easter stamps as well as incorporating as many things from the challenge as I could. I also made three cards with the left overs.

Sorry about the poor quality of the photos - the colours actually look a bit different on the layout.

I bought a Martha Stewart Scoring Board a few weeks ago and this is the first time that I've used it. It's FANTASTIC and if you make cards it's a must have!

I have to finish the Cheaper than Therapy Challenge for this week now.

Cheaper than Therapy Challenge #22 and #23

This was the challenge for last week No. 22 and this is what I have put together for it. I didn't have the paper pack that Rachael, Maree and Adele used, so I used Stampin Up's Designer Series Paper - Spice Cake. I love how this layout came together, in fact is probably one of my favourites that I have ever done.

This is the challenge for Week 23. Having boys, these colours are a bit harder for me to incorporate. I did use all the colours and this is the layout. I don't like this one as much - I think the one above has colours that appeal to me more and I definitely love the sense of symmetry in the one above.

You can see Adele, Maree and Rachael's challenges by following the links.

February Pages 2 Scrap Challenge

I've cropped these photos and rotated them, but for some reason they have uploaded like this and I can't change it...just incline your head to the right a bit ;) Follow Me on Pinterest

Where's my creative mojo gone?

Okay, my creative mojo has left the building people!!! Trying to get it back, although I seem to have lost all my imagination. I have done a couple of things though. The cards were inspired by Stampin Up's mini-catalogue easter card. I wanted my scrapbook sign to be really girly (after living in a house of males).

This page was inspired by the Footloose page in the new Close to my Heart catalogue.

I'm about the start the February Pages 2 Scrap challenge. This is what we have been given to do the challenge with:

I thought I might do a page for my beautiful dog that we lost last year. I haven't felt up to doing anything for him yet (yes, I have tears just thinking about it), but I think it kind of fits for me.

A Challenge for February

Hi,

Is anyone interested in doing this photo challenge for the month and then scrapbooking it with me?

Pages to Scrap January Challenge

I bought the January Challenge from Pages 2 Scrap (blog link). This was the challenge:
And these were the products we were given to complete the challenge with:

From these products I made one layout and three cards:

Layout, card and box

Below are two layouts that I have completed this week. For the first one I used a PageMaps template.

It's in my beautiful frame that Mum bought me for Christmas. I need to start photographing  things in the daytime as the ceiling light reflected on it.

If the next layout looks a bit funny, I blurred some text and children that weren't mine for this post. I used a Creative Memories Kit to make it- so easy!

As I'm trying to stick to my news years resolutions, I tried something off the page by making this little box:

I've been eagerly waiting for my Wild Rose stamps to arrive. Finally they came today so I made a card that I distressed and coloured using Copic Markers:

Hope you are having a good week.

PageMaps 2011

I haven't been feeling particularly innovative regarding laylouts of late, so I used a December 2011 PageMaps template to create this layout:

I got a fantastic battery operated sewing machine for christmas that I used for the sewing; so easy to pull out and use!

Storage - Part 2

So the next thing I wanted to tackle was my stamp sets. They took up heaps of room, I kept forgetting what I had and was reluctant to keep pulling them out because they were a pain to stack up again (they outgrew storage boxes). This blog explained how they unmounted their stamps. So I have unmounted ALL my stampin up and other brands stamps saving a ton of room. After I unmounted them, I put each stamp set in a labelled A5 sheet protector in a numbered folder:

Also, because I kept forgetting what I had, I started an inventory folder. I stamped each stamp and then numbered each page to correspond with the folder number, so now before I start each project I can just grab my folder to see what I want to use.

I really liked this idea, and after I doubled up on a copic marker colour :( I have included my glimmer mists, liquid pearls and stickles, copics, dies, punches and embossing folders.

I also printed out all the fact sheets for each Cricut cart I have so I don't have to pull each box out now to see what images I want to use.
Best of all, this is how much space I saved, just unmounting my stampin up stamps:

Storage!!

I think every scrapbooker faces challenges with storage. I have to admit I am slightly obsessed with looking at storage options and scraprooms on you tube and scrapbook.com.

I have set myself the challenge of trying to get my paper organised and bought these bargain racks for my paper. I have organised them by colour and theme.

I have also taken photos of my patterned paper and filed them on my computer. It didn't actually take long  to do and now I can look to see what I want to use on my computer and grab it quickly. There were so many papers I had forgotten I had.

Next thing I tackled was ribbon storage. I had a EZ pull ribbon storage system, but I quickly ran out of space. I bought two three armed towel rails from Howards Storage world. For ribbon that was unspooled, I punched holes in plastic embriodery thread holders to fit the size of the ribbon. This prevented the ribbon from becoming creased and stopped it slipping off. The rest of the spooled ribbon fitted easily on the racks with heaps of space for future expansion (hope my husband doesn't read this ;) It also hides behind the door to the room.

I had all my flowers stored in a folder so I put them in glass jars. I share my scrapping place with our home office, so I don't want my scrapbooking things to overtake it, but I love the look of these.

I'm busy working on unmounting my stamp sets now and then maybe I can start some actual scrapping!
